Loft Mentor Series
I’m excited, if a bit daunted, to begin the Loft Mentor Series at the Loft Literary Center in a few weeks. I’ll be working with Loft Mentors along with a group of 11 other writers. Hoping to emerge as an “emerging” author. Should be a great year!
Tilting at Elsewhere
About this time last year, I was preparing for my trip to Elsewhere, the “living museum” in Greensboro, North Carolina. Here is a Flickr set from my trip. I also made a photo book, A is for Elsewhere. I can’t recommend Elsewhere enough to any artist interested in a rewarding residency. Check it out!
Taking a break…here’s why!
Southeast Minneapolis is Blooming
I love the (somewhat odd) design elements of this parking lot. I wonder if it means anything…besides being an invitation to street photographers.
Slow Spring…
This spring has come so slowly. I’d been waiting to take this picture for a whole month, it seemed. Worth the wait, I suppose. But it’s still freezing! Needed a down comforter last night. Beautiful today though.
Alec Soth on Mike Brodie
Check out Alec Soth’s “Popsicle” concerning photographer Mike Brodie (a.k.a. “The Polaroid Kid”). I’m so glad he picked up this book and looked beyond the cover into what appears to be a pretty damn sweet body of work. http://www.littlebrownmushroom.com/blog/popsicle-15-a-period-of-juvenile-properity-by-mike-brodie/

I’m excited to have my work featured on Fly Over Art. Check it out, and follow me on Tumblr too.Â
MN Center for Book Arts Presentation
I’ll be speaking about my book, A is for Elsewhere, at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts tomorrow evening in front of Craig Eliason‘s “Type Tuesday” group. Everyone is welcome. Gathering around 6 in the coffee shop area, presentation at 7. Please join us!
