ANTE-UP: Revolver Fiction Contest
Without a doubt, one of the best things about the literary community in the Twin Cities (and Lauderdale) is the arts and culture magazine Revolver. (They also own the literary event category right now.) That’s why I was particularly excited to nab 2nd place in their “ANTE-UP” contest. A bit of this story made itsContinue reading “ANTE-UP: Revolver Fiction Contest”
Loft Mentor Series Reading
Here I square off in a debate against myself (There I go again…)
Google Glass, meet Google Hand
Feeling very fortunate to be one of the first people in the entire world to try both Google Glass and Google Hand. (You just put on the hand, walk around like no big deal, and when you want to lift up a car you just say, “Okay, Hand!”)
Loft Mentor Series Reading
Reading at The Loft this weekend was a distinct pleasure, particularly in front of the other Mentor Series participants, and most particularly sharing the stage with mentor Peter Campion. Our first weekend seminar with Peter was this weekend, and it was a gem. Really looking forward to the rest of the year.
Der Greif #7
My issue of Der Greif arrived in the mail yesterday. It was a lot of fun to have one of my photos cross the Atlantic by email and get mailed back to me in this great magazine. If only I had shot that cover photo. Awesome.
Der Greif #7
I’m excited to have work in the most recent issue of the German photography journal, Der Grief. Blink and you’ll miss my photo, “Robert Adams Meets Ansel Adams,” at about 48 seconds. Happy to be in the company of what looks like some great work, and a stellar layout too. Can’t wait to get myContinue reading “Der Greif #7”
The Block Formerly Known as E
Made Here @ Block E is starting to wind down. I hope you had a chance to see all the great work in (and on) Block E. A news story broke recently describing new plans for the building. It actually looks halfway decent, and the idea to have the pro basketball teams practice there IContinue reading “The Block Formerly Known as E”
Open Door 9 and Untitled 10
I’m going to be in two great group shows in Minneapolis this December: Untitled 10 at SooVAC and Open Door 9 at Rosaulx Gallery. It’s particularly fun because the opening nights are back-to-back, Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7. I hope to see you at one or both openings! Congrats to all the artists, but especially to AlyssaContinue reading “Open Door 9 and Untitled 10”
Made Here at Block E
The Made Here at Block E project has been up for a week, and the project has been an unmitigated success. Here is a shot of my photos in the window of what once was a Walgreens. Before that, it was Moby Dick’s (or thereabouts). Very special thanks to Joan Vorderbruggen for giving Minneapolis’s sorriestContinue reading “Made Here at Block E”
